Transforming an empty retail shell into a refined builders showroom through thoughtful floorplanning, kitchen design and 3D visualisation.

What began as an empty retail shell was reimagined into a functional and inviting builders showroom designed to support both client interaction and product presentation.

Studio Gibson was engaged to develop the overall floorplan layout and kitchen design, creating a space that would allow visitors to move naturally through the showroom while experiencing key design features in a practical, real-world setting.

A primary focus of the project was spatial flow, transforming the large open area into clearly defined zones for consultation, display, workshop and inspiration without compromising openness or light. Through thoughtful planning, the layout balances professional functionality with a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring the showroom feels considered rather than purely commercial.

To support decision-making during the early design phase, detailed 3D visualisations were created to help the Hardy team fully understand how the proposed layout and design elements would translate within the existing structure. These renders allowed for refinement before construction began, providing clarity around scale, material direction and overall spatial experience.

The kitchen design plays a central role within the showroom, acting as both a functional feature and a visual anchor. Layered textures, contrasting cabinetry tones and refined detailing were used to demonstrate how thoughtful design choices can elevate everyday spaces.

The completed showroom reflects a collaborative process between design and construction, transforming a blank interior into a cohesive environment that showcases both craftsmanship and design vision.
